Toy Story 3 was one of the best films made, let alone 3D. My children watch it very often. However, the best 3d movie is still Avatar when considering the modern method that Cameron helped invent. I find that the directors are not using 3d to help tell the story, but the movie heads are using 3d to sell higher ticket prices. Not really a fair exchange.

we went to see Toy Story 3 in 3D last night & I wasn't that impressed. 20 years ago we saw Michael Jacksons Captain EO in 3D at Universal Studios & it was awesome with things popping out at you.

Are there any other 3D movies that things jump out at you?
We just bought a 55 inch HD TV with a bluray DVD player & watched avatar again...it'was like watching a new movie. To me, the HD & bluray was just as good as the Toy Story 3, 3D.
Thanks for posting this. We honestly thought after 20 years things would be jumping out at you in the theater.

The future of movies: More senses?...

For about 100 years we have been enjoying the movie magic. Two-dimensional moving images with sound have kept us happy. Now Avatar has kick-started a discussion about the future of movies. Are all movies going to be 3D? And what about the other senses?...
